DNA Brighton Lure Boat Bass record
Thankfully the weather and winds abated at last, and we had 2 sessions, with the Northerly winds hitting the seas, clarity about 2 miles out was better than inshore, and regular’s to Brighton Lure Boat, young Aaron and Dave, was first up. I had mentioned we may have to cut short due to the winds meant to be getting up.
We throttled up Brighton Lure Boat and ventured out, the first mark on the screen seemed to show a lot of fish, this was soon dispelled by noticing it was a net, that killed that idea. We moved on swiftly and went a mark 3 mile out which looked more hopeful, Aaron first into a 2lber Silver, not put off by the fact the swell was slightly bigger than inshore, we managed 4 basses in 12 drifts, Dave joined in with a couple, and we had 2/3 dropped or as they say spat the unflavoured rubber out!
Unpredictable Brighton Seas
The unpredictability of the weather played a major part of the morning, we moved back in a mile, near 30 knots plus on Brighton Lure Boat we arrived in no time, the clarity wasn’t the best but it was clearing, found the edges of the good and bad clarity and our first cast outs, straight into 3lb plus wrasse, Aaron joined in with his 3rd Bass of the day, we were approaching the magic double figure, which was passed with ease, although the Bass weren’t monsters, great fun on light gear and light lures. We had a number of good takes and few drop-offs, possibly wrasse, all in all, stunning fishing.

Brighton Lure Boat, Tuesday catch report
The Brighton sea can change within minutes, one minute calm next blowing like a whales blowhole! Which made the morning unpredictable again, for 2 days running we had Aaron on board Brighton Lure Boat for his second trip of the week, and we ventured out on to a choppy sea, our first stop was on small wreck 2 miles out, with previous visits plenty fish showing of some degree, a few knocks but nothing that you could say it’s worthwhile staying, so we moved on, Brighton Lure Boat powered its way thru the sea at ease and we arrived on the small reef within minutes, I was hopeful of some action.
The screen was busy with fish showing, well it didn’t take long for Arron to bag his first bass of the morning, not big by any means, but a put smile on his face! The next bass caught had two chances, Aaron again almost capturing it first, losing it then within seconds of my lure about 12-14′ away from the boat, had to be the same fish that he lost seconds ago. the catch rate we were on to exceed Monday’s total, or where we, As the sea has to be respected at all times, Which we at Brighton Lure Boat take seriously.
We continued on amongst the reefs and was becoming hard work with the swell increasing, then decreasing, thankful for the stability of Brighton Lure Boat we managed to stay out, we both had smallish bass within minutes, we moved back to Brighton Marina west wall area to see if the clarity had changed, but by then the wind increased again and after 2 plus hours, we called it a day, Aaron outscoring the skipper 3-2, and having the best fish of the session 2 days running.
