Welcome to Brighton Lure Boat September Round-Up, September is usually the time for the bigger fish to show themselves more inshore, this hasn’t happened to say we didn’t pull any monster-size fish, but we did have a good few in the upper and middle 50’s range, which were all returned.
Which was good news for some of our newest crew members venturing out with us. We had the returning Sam with his boss Alex Clegg from Angling trust and Kevin from Clubmate, which turned out to be one the better mornings of the month, some good size fish plus the odd Gurnard, Alex was top rod!
Malc, our regular kingfisher, managed to put a crew together with Andy and his son, it was morning young Jamie will not forget, he was top rod and had the 2 biggest fish of the day.
We also had the pleasure of the now retired Phil The Bass and his slightly elder brother Mike, and like big brothers do he out-fished Phil!
We have made a couple of 6-hour trips purely as a trial over the past couple of weeks, they worked out well with some good feedback on how we approached the session. Our 6-hour slots are available to book via our website or give us a call.
Well done to all our crews who ventured out with us this past month, at times in challenging winds and we hope October like the German Beer Festivals, we have a steady flow of silvers.
Still no cod yet but here are some of the other fish species we caught this month. Red Gurnard, Tub Gurnard, Larger than average Mackerel, Scad.
