Brighton Lure Boat July Round-Up!

Welcome to Brighton Lure Boat July Round-Up! We eventually managed to get out in mid-July, we had a good run, plenty of returnees, and new crews and a birthday boy young Harrison, with his friend Harley, who were totally spoiled with the mass of birds we came across. Lance’s first time out with us, he was top rod on his trip, along with the first lure caught, Bream this year.

One trip that stands out, 18/7, Vic, Malc , Peter and Martin, 2 of the guys hadn’t caught a bean all trip, as promised if we find our feathered fish finders we would stop, that’s exactly what happened, the 2 who did not catch, within 15 minutes were vying for top rods for the day, the amazing thing was not one fish was below 3lb, I lost count on how many we boated. The trip ran over an hour because of the amount of Bass and large mackerel we were catching. If only we could get them to order life would be so much easier, but that’s fishing for you, as I owe a couple of people a good session as they caught, but it was very hard work for all of us, on that particular day.

The awesome double still eludes at the moment, but we are still catching and finding some quality fish up to and over 60cm, Myself, Malc, Peter and Lance hold that badge for this month.

All though the trips are limited due to the weather holding us back, let’s hope August/September we get settled weather.
